The question I getmost often isn'tabout paint.
It's "How did you get into this?" I'm Patricia Smith, and I started The Colour Chameleon in 2017. But my color story stretches back to well before that.

I came to color from the other side of the paint job.
Before The Colour Chameleon I worked in residential painting. I quoted projects, managed them, and was the one the client would call in a panic, asking to "STOP THE PAINTERS" because the color wasn't what they'd hoped.
During those estimate appointments, I often heard the same frustrations.

After years in the business, I could see too many people were committing to paint colors half-heartedly. Worse, they weren't realizing how much that uncertainty would cost. Extra paint and labor to fix a rushed or bad color choice could run into hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Choosing paint colors was a burden. In short, too much "Let's hope for the best," and too little "We got this!"
That's when I knew I could help.
So I became certified in color consulting and turned my passion for home color into a business serving Atlanta residents. But my expertise goes beyond choosing the right color. My experience in the painting business — including professional cabinet painting — gives me a practical understanding of paint products and applications that affect your project's longevity. Today, I combine color expertise with real-world painting knowledge to help clients make more informed decisions.
I also redecorate.
Want to give your interior a facelift? Do you "have an idea" but lack the budget? I am certified in Home Redecorating. Unlike interior designers and decorators, I don't source items, bring samples or tear down walls. I do redecorating “express style”. You tell me what pieces can or cannot go and what style you prefer. I'll assess the space and your use of lighting, recommend furniture layout, accessorizing, and suggest room enhancement projects (for when you do have a budget or extra time for a fun DIY project.) I can even incorporate this into your color consultation appointment.

USC Trojan graduate, then a long career in marketing and sales — before I turned a passion for color into a business.
The story behind the name
Thanks to my English born husband, The Colour Chameleon has European flair. It was his suggestion to use the English spelling of the word "color".
Garden, then the gym
You'll find me in the garden or at the gym: building the strength to carry the 40+ pounds of color materials I bring to every consult!
Most people don't know
I am half Ecuadorian and speak fluent Spanish.
